Smart Mobile Auto Mechanic is a fully equipped workshop that arrives in a van. Brakes, batteries, starters, alternators, check-engine diagnostics and pre-purchase inspections — done in your driveway, your condo garage, or the lot where you work. You keep your day. We bring the tools.
01 — What we do
Most of what a shop does in a day, we can do in your driveway. If a job genuinely needs a hoist or a dealer-level tool we don't carry, we'll tell you on the phone before we drive out — not after you've paid a call-out.

Pads, rotors, calipers, brake fluid and seized hardware. We measure pad depth and rotor thickness in front of you and show you the numbers before anything gets replaced. Squealing, grinding, a soft pedal or a pull to one side — all driveway jobs.

Testing, replacement and terminal clean-up. We load-test the battery and check the alternator output at the same time, so you don't buy a battery when the real problem is a tired alternator. Winter no-starts are our busiest call in Markham.

Full OBD-II scan with live data, not just a code read. We trace the fault to the actual component — a P0420 isn't always a catalytic converter, and a misfire isn't always a coil. You get a written explanation of what we found and what it will cost to fix.

Clicks, slow cranks, a dash that dims at idle, a serpentine belt that's started chirping. We carry common fitments for Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Ford and Chevrolet, and can usually finish the same visit.

Conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic, with the filter and a 20-point walkaround included. Coolant, transmission fluid, power steering and washer systems topped and checked while we're under there. Used oil is collected and recycled.

Buying used in the GTA? We meet you at the seller's address, put the car up on stands, scan it, check for frame and flood damage, and give you a straight verdict on the phone before you hand over a deposit. Worth every dollar on a $9,000 Civic.

Clunks over speed bumps, wandering steering, uneven tire wear. Struts, shocks, control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar links and wheel bearings — diagnosed by feel and by pry bar, not by guesswork.

Not on the list? Call and describe the noise. If it's something we can't do mobile — a transmission rebuild, an alignment, a tire mount — we'll say so straight away and point you to someone who can.
02 — How a call goes
Tell us the year, make and model, the neighbourhood, and what the car is doing — the noise, the light, the smell. We'll give you a realistic window and a rough price range on the phone. No obligation, no "bring it in and we'll see."
Driveway, condo garage, office parking lot, side of a quiet street. We need roughly one and a half car lengths of space and permission to work where the vehicle sits. If you're in a condo, a quick word with building management about visitor parking saves everyone time.
We show you the worn part, explain the fix, and confirm the price before we start. Card, e-transfer or cash on completion. Old parts stay with you unless you'd rather we take them.
03 — Why mobile
A traditional repair means dropping the car off before work, arranging a ride, waiting for a callback, and losing an afternoon to a waiting room with a coffee machine that hasn't been cleaned since 2019. For the jobs that don't require a hoist, none of that is necessary.
We've been working on cars in the Markham and Scarborough area long enough to know which repairs genuinely need a shop and which ones are just easier for the shop if you're standing in it. Brakes, batteries, starters, alternators, sensors, belts, fluids, suspension components and diagnostics all fall into the second group. We do those at your address, on your schedule, and you watch as much or as little of it as you like.
It also means no upsell pressure. There's no service advisor between you and the person holding the wrench, and no commission on the parts list. If your pads have 6mm left, we'll tell you they have 6mm left and you can decide in three months.
04 — Hours
Early mornings and evenings are the easiest slots to book — most people want the car sorted before work or after the kids are down. Saturday is the shortest day, so book it early.

Based on Mackinac Crescent in Scarborough, we cover most of the eastern GTA. If you're outside the list below, call anyway — a job that's worth the drive usually still gets booked.
Driveways, condo garages, apartment visitor parking, office lots, quiet residential streets. We can't work on a live traffic lane, inside a paid underground garage with a height restriction under 6'6", or anywhere the building forbids vehicle servicing — worth a two-minute check with your condo board before we book.
